Geneva Man Guilty of Attempting to Kill a Man Twice

An Ontario County jury has convicted a Geneva man on charges he tried to kill a man two different times last year.

Thirty-three-year-old Jerry Lovett was arrested earlier last year for shooting the man.

While he was in jail, he tried a few months later to hire a hitman to kill the same man.

The hitman was an undercover federal agent.

Lovett was found guilty of first- and second-degree attempted murder, conspiracy, and gun crimes.

His sentencing is set for August.
