Federal Trial Date Set for Buffalo Supermarket Shooter

A date has now been set for the Buffalo supermarket shooter's federal trial.

Payton Gendron's trial on federal hate crime charges will begin September 8th of next year.

He has already admitted to gunning down 10 Black people at the Tops supermarket in May 2022, and is serving life in prison on state charges.

The Justice Department announced their decision to seek the death penalty against Gendron last month.

This is despite Gendron's lawyers saying he would plead guilty in the federal case if prosecutors did not seek the death penalty.
