Rochester Man Guilty of Shooting at Deputy at Henrietta Restaurant

A jury in Rochester has convicted a city man who was accused of firing a gun at a Monroe County sheriff's deputy inside a Henrietta restaurant.

Thirty-five-year-old Alonzo Jones was arrested in June 2022, after deputies got a report of a man with a gun at Carrabba's Italian Grill.

Deputy Nicholas Cooper tried to calm Jones down, but Jones fired at Cooper's head.

The bullet just missed and hit the wall.

Jones was found guilty of Attempted Aggravated Murder, Attempted Aggravated Assault Upon an officer, and two gun crimes.

Sentencing is set for January 16.
