A Rochester man is accused of severely injuring a 3-year-old girl last month.
30-year-old Shamar Canty faces two assault counts.
Police say the girl suffered extensive burns and a broken leg in Canty's care.
Family members brought her to the hospital, where police were called.
Police did not release Canty's relationship to the child.
U.S. Marshals arrested Canty on Empire Boulevard yesterday.
