Rochester Man Guilty in Pearce St. Homicide

A Rochester man has been convicted in a September homicide in the Edgerton neighborhood.

54-year-old Ronald Lagasse was found guilty of second-degree murder.

Prosecutors say Lagasse bludgeoned 65-year-old Mary Simzer to death in an alley on Pearce Street, off North Plymouth Avenue.

Lagasse was previously convicted of rape in 1997.

He'll be sentenced in August.
