Use of Deadly Force by Police in Rochester Last Week Under Investigation

The state Attorney General's Office confirms it's investigating the use of deadly force by police in Rochester last week.

35-year-old Brendon Burns was shot and killed by city police officers and Monroe County deputies in the Park Avenue neighborhood.

Authorities say Burns aimed a shotgun at officers during a foot chase.

He then allegedly ignored repeated orders to drop it, and deputies and city police officers opened fire.

The Attorney General's Office is required to investigate any instance of an officer causing a death.
