Williams Gets 40 to Life in Attack on RPD Officer Wright

The sentence is 40 years to life in prison for Keith Williams -- the man convicted in the 2019 attack that blinded Rochester Police Officer Denny Wright.

He spoke briefly at his sentencing hearing today, but his remarks were not audible to most spectators in the courtroom.

A jury last month found Williams guilty of attempted murder and aggravated assault of a police officer.

Williams stabbed Wright in the face repeatedly, after Wright responded to a home on Peck Street for a mental health call.

Wright said today that Williams tried hard to kill him but failed.

The judge said Williams is possessed by something very evil.
