Parolee Arrested in Fatal Mother's Day Shooting

Rochester police have arrested a parolee for the city's latest homicide.

Twenty-nine-year-old Justin Singleton was paroled three weeks ago from a weapon conviction.

He is now charged with murder and a weapon offense in the noontime shooting yesterday on North Plymouth Avenue, near Smith Street.

Ths shooting killed 46-year-old Jan Perez.

Police believe it was connected to the drug trade.

Perez is the city's 25th homicide victim this year.
