Governor Hochul will reportedly extend the mask mandate for students and teachers in schools. A health department spokesperson tells the Albany Times Union the requirement that expires February 21st is expected to be renewed. However, the newspaper reports the mask mandate for indoor businesses will be allowed to expire Thursday. The governor has a virtual meeting today with school superintendents and other educational leaders. Hochul is expected to make a formal announcement tomorrow about mask mandates.
