The Second in Command at the Rochester Police Department is Leaving

The second in command at the Rochester Police Department is leaving.

Bob Lonsberry reports Executive Deputy Chief Andre Anderson will leave in two weeks, to take a position with another department out of state.

Anderson came to Rochester in October from Glendale, Arizona, where he was the commander of the special operations division.

He was expected to stay here a year and work on improving community relations for the RPD.

He had previously served as interim chief in Ferguson, Missouri -- after the police shooting of Michael Brown in 2014.
