Republicans are signaling they will make a serious effort to beat Congressman Joe Morelle in next year's election.
Morelle and Buffalo area Congressman Brian Higgins have been added to the list of 57 congressional Democrats targeted by the National Republican Congressional Committee.
New York will be losing a congressional seat next year, and the redistricting process could put more Republican voters into the territories represented by the two Democrats.
