Town officials in Perinton have worked out a possible path forward with Waste Management -- the operators of the High Acres Landfill.
The town and the company have been operating on a month-to-month deal since the expiration of their last long term agreement in 2018.
The town has proposed a new long-term agreement that would set a lower limit the trash brought to the landfill by train from New York City.
Perinton officials believe the proposal would reduce odors that have prompted complaints from people nearby.
Public comments are being taken until May 3
