Plug Power to Develop 2nd Area Hydrogen Plant near Batavia

Last Month, Plug Power announced it would build a hydrogen fuel cell manfuacturing plant in Rochester. Now Governor Cuomo's office says the company plans to build another facility at the STAMP site near Batavia.

The governor says it will be a $290 milliion dollar development that would support the Rochester facility...and also be the nation's first example of a domestic green hydrogen energy production supply chain. He says it would create nearly 70 jobs to start, on top of the 375 jobs plannned for Rochester. The plant will produce 45 tons of hydrogen gas daily to power fuel cells.

Plug Power wants to develop a hydrogen infrastructure across the United States, powering fuel-cell driven electric vehicles.
