New Yorkers with unpaid traffic tickets will soon be getting a break.
A new law will let drivers set up payment plans if they can't afford an entire fine in a lump sum.
The change will help keep drivers behind the wheel instead of facing license or registration suspensions for their unpaid tickets.
Supporters of the new law say "The privilege of driving should not be attached to your income."
The law takes effect March 31.
