Changes Being Made to Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board

The board overseeing the water level on Lake Ontario is shrinking from 12 members to six.

Municipal representatives and citizen members of the Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board will be moved to an advisory panel, while the remaining board members will largely be officials with technical backgrounds.

The board was expanded last year after a season of unusually high water on the lake and flooding along the shore. The water level has since dropped to near normal.
