Webster PD: Speed and Alcohol Factors in Fatal Crash on Gasberry Lane

Webster Police say alcohol and speed were factors in a fatal crash earlier this month on Gasberry Lane in Webster.

Police say the driver, Brody Spade of Webster, was driving drunk when he crashed into a tree around one o’clock in the morning on November first.

Webster Police Chief Joe Rieger says Spade and five other teens riding with him, had just left a party.

Spade was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The five other passengers, ranging in age from 16 to 18 were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The underage person who hosted the party is now facing charges in family court.

Webster Schools Superintendent Carmen Gumina says five of the six teens involved were past or present Webster students. He says this is a tragic incident that has affected the Webster community.
