RIT Acquires Radisson Hotel

The Rochester Institute of Technology has acquired the former Radisson Hotel Rochester Airport, located next to its campus on Jefferson Road in Henrietta.

The hotel includes more than 170 bedrooms, conference rooms, an indoor pool and banquet facilities. Rochester Airport Hospitality LLC gave the property to RIT. RIT says it's making some quick changes so it can house students there if necessary to promote physical distancing as it reopens this fall. To prevent spreading COVID-19, only two students are being allowed to share a room in the residence halls, causing a temporary shortage.

In the long term, RIT say sit will renovate the entire facility and use it for housing students and university guests.

RIT officials say the hotel will not be used to quarantine students from out of state coming to the Henrietta campus. The school had already booked rooms in other area hotels for that purpose.
