Fishing Season Officially Opens Tomorrow

Tomorrow, April 1st marks the official opening of fishing season in New York State, but of course all anglers must comply with social-distancing during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Environmental officials haven't given any indication that the season will be postponed, and for now state parks remain open.

There are social-distancing guidelines posted online for fishing, including the recommendation you stay generally close to home, and keep away from other crowds along streams or lakes. Experts say stocked-steams will likely have fish congregating under bridges, because they're being dropped from trucks, as opposed to be being distributed by teams of volunteers as a result of social-distancing.
