4th Coronavirus Death Reported in Monroe County

Monroe County Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza reports a fourth person has died locally of COVID-19.

Dr. Mendoza did not release any additional information but offered his condolences in a statement and called for everyone to do their part through social distancing to keep others safe.

There are now 148 confirmed cases of the cornavirus disease in Monroe County, according to the latest numbers from the County Health Department. Six of those cases are new since the last report. One of those new patients is a child under ten years old. Ten people have gotten over the disease and have been released from the hospital or quarantine, eight of them in the last day.

Nearly two-thousand test results have been received, and 545 people are in mandatory quarantine or isolation.
