Three people are facing charges in a beating Sunday afternoon along the Erie Canal in Palmyra.
A man reported he was assaulted by a woman and two men on the Canal Path, near Church Street.
He had broken bones in his face and knew the name of one of the men.
Suspects Anthony Rizzo, Sarah Hellis, and Destinyann Gourney told deputies they attacked the man over a Facebook message he sent to a woman.
All three are charged with assault, gang assault and conspiracy. Charges are pending against the man who was assaulted.
