Mayor Warren Opposes HPV Vaccine Mandate

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren going on record against a bill in Albany that could mandate the HPV vaccine for seventh-graders in New York...and a related bill for a sex-ed curriculum in grades K through 4th.

The HPV bill has stalled in the past. But it may have better prospects now that New York has done away with the religious exemption for mandatory school vaccines.

Mayor Warren is asking the governor and the legislature not to approve the bill, but Assemblyman Harry Bronson says any such program will be age appropriate.

Warren says the bill would take state involvement in family affairs to another level.
