Senecas, State Closer on Allowing Thruway Repairs

Congressman Tom Reed says the Seneca Nation of Indians is willing to allow the State Thruway Authority onto its reservation to fix Interstate-90...which has become badly deteriorated.

Reed says in a email while recovering from pneumonia that Governor Cuomo should put his differences with the Indians aside....and he invited both sides to meet Monday in Irving in Western New York to bring the issue to a close.

The Seneca Reservation straddles the Thruway between Buffalo and Fredonia in Western New York.

Buffalo media say the Thruway Authority and the Senecas began sending letters back and forth this week, indicating they're moving forward with negotiations.
