Rochester Police Locust Club Files Lawsuit Over Police Accountability Board

The union representing Rochester's police officers is suing to prevent the city from holding the November referendum on the proposed Police Accountability Board.

The lawsuit was filed by the Rochester Police Locust Club against the City, the Mayor, the City Council and the Monroe County Board of Elections.

The suit claims the charter amendment that would create the board violates the Civil Service Law, the collective bargaining agreement, and the law that governs negotiations between police and City Hall.
