Sen. Schumer: New Legislation Would End Robocalls

Senator Chuck Schumer says it's time to put an end to robocalls. He's now pushing for passage of the Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act in Congress. If approved, telecommunications companies would have to create a program authenticating a call's originating number as it goes from one network to another.

That would allow folks to know where a call is coming from and decide if they want to answer or ignore it. Schumer says the legislation has the support of both Democrats and Republicans.
