NY Assembly Passes "Raise the Age" Bill for Tobacco, E-Cigs

The State Assembly has passed legislation raising the age to buy tobacco and vaping products in New York from 18 to 21.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said their goal is to keep high school kids from getting into smoking or e-cigs. Many counties across the state already have Age 21 laws.

Governor Cuomo is hailing the legislation, which he supported as part of his justice agenda. The measure now goes to the State Senate.
