Rochester, NY -- A former principal at East High School has been named to run Rochester's University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men.
The trustees at UPrep have chosen Ed Cavalier to take over as president on an interim basis.
Cavalier also served as an interim principal at Young Women's College Prep and spent five years as CEO for the Urban Choice Charter School.
He succeeds Joseph Munno, who retired after denying valedictorian Jaisaan Lovett an opportunity to speak at last month's commencement ceremony.
