Police: Victor Restaurant Manager Accused of Stealing $6,000

An Irondequoit man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a Victor restaurant and its employees. New York State Police said James Demetreu, 38, stole more than $6,000 through multiple debit card charge backs while working at the six50 restaurant. Chargebacks usually return money to a customer or reverse a previous transition. Demetreu allegedly returned the money to his personal bank account. He is also accused of taking several employee checks and depositing them into his personal bank account. Demetreu was fired.  he is charged with felony grand larceny 3rd, felony falsifying business records 1st, and felony scheme to defraud 1st.
