Rochester City School District Projecting Budget Deficit for Coming Year

The Rochester City School District is projecting a $65 million budget deficit for the coming year.

The district is facing higher costs for special education students, non-English speakers, and contractual pay raises for teachers.

Closing the deficit could require pay freezes for administrative staff and requests for more state aid. The district is expected to present its formal budget proposal next month.
