There's no word on the cause of a fire that destroyed a house in the Cheshire community in the Town of Canandaigua.
It was reported around 4:30 yesterday afternoon in the 4200 block of State Route 21.
Authorities say resident Keith Rose suffered smoke inhalation trying to rescue the family pets. Two dogs and a cat were killed.
The house is considered a total loss.
