UR Professor Accused of Sexual Harassment Releases Statement

We are hearing from Florian Jaeger -- the University of Rochester professor who was accused of sexual harassment.

In his statement today, Jaeger apologizes to students and colleagues for the distress the allegations have caused them. And he says while he disagrees with some aspects of the investigative report yesterday, he says "I agree that I could have shown more maturity when I arrived as a 31-year-old faculty member in 2007. Over time I have addressed many of these shortcomings. I never intended to cause harm to students."

A commission appointed by the trustees found no violations of university policies and the law. And the commission found no wrongdoing by the university when it initially cleared Jaeger in 2016.
