Rochester Police have made three arrests in connection with a robbery that happened at a footbridge at the University of Rochester last week, as well a robbery at Genesee Valley Park. Both incidents happened last Wednesday night.
Police say they were led to the three men Sunday night after getting a call about something suspicious at a vacant garage on Sawyer Street.
They charged two 17 year olds, Chris Rutley and Denton Fraction, as well as 19 year old Shane Austin.
The three are accused of punching 22 year old Rodrigo Gobitz of Rochester as he was walking across the footbridge towards South Plymouth Avenue, and stealing his cell phone, laptop computer, wallet and I-Pad.
They are also accused of punching a 28 year old Queens man at Genesee Valley Park and taking his cell phone. Police say some of the stolen items have been recovered. All three suspects face charges that include robbery, assault and grand larceny.
