The Rochester Marathon and Half-Marathon are underway Sunday morning. Thousands of runners from across the U.S. and Canada are taking part and also raising funds to benefit the Arthritis Foundation.
The race started at 7:30 from the Andrews St. Bridge and many roads are still closed downtown until the last runner clears the area. The course from downtown heads out East Avenue to Winton Road, so roads are closed from the Inner Loop to Winton along that route. East Main is closed between Clinton and Chestnut...East Avenue is closed from Main to Winton...and South Winton is closed from East to Highland Avenues.
More roads will be closed later as the 26.2 mile race turns through the suburbs and heads back into the city.
