Rochester, NY -- The Rochester City Council has unanimously approved about $9 million in borrowing for the Port of Rochester Marina project. That includes funds to build the marina itself, build and rebuild water mains there and pay for the port lighthouse trail and overlook. The first phase of the project calls for a deep-draft marina basin that can accommodate 85 slips.
In other business, the council also approved $600,000 in borrowing for the costs of improvements to the war memorial terrace at Blue Cross Arena. And the council voted to grant a tax exemption for a planned apartment complex at the site of the former Corpus Christi School on East Main Street.
