Rochester Police are investigating two shootings that happened Monday afternoon. One left a man in his 30s with life-threatening injuries, and an earlier incident wounded a 19-year-old who is expected to survive.
Police said a man in his 30s was found on Fillmore Street with a serious gunshot wound. It wasn't clear if he'd been shot at that location or made his way there from somewhere else before collapsing. Rural Metro Ambulance transported the victim to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Police are still on the scene (as of 6 pm) and had no other information so far. This is a developing situation and we'll update when more information is available.
The earlier shooting was in the area of Genesee and Cottage Streets. Officers who responded reported seeing a person run from the scene as they approached to find an injured 19-year-old. Investigators are asking anyone with information to call 911.
