Rochester, NY -- State and federal regulators are hosting a public forum in Rochester about environmental issues facing Lake Ontario and the ongoing effort to clean up the lake.
The top issues include the spread of invasive species, restoring the native populations and reducing contaminants in the fish.
Officials say they're getting many reports that the water quality and clarity is improving. But while they say industry and local governments are doing their part to reduce pollution, recreational users of the lake and lake property owners could be doing more.
The forum is open to boaters, lake property owners and anyone interested in the lake ecosystem. It's set for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Port of Rochester Terminal Building.
