Rochester, N.Y. – President Barack Obama says that about 8 Million people will be getting a refund check due to their healthcare not meeting standards outlined in the Affordable Care Act. However, Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield customers won't be among those receiving an Obamacare refund check.
Spokesman Jim Redmond says that Excellus customers are receiving a higher quality of healthcare than what the affordable care act mandates.
“Our members collectively received more hospital and physician services, prescriptions and other medical befits throughout the year than what federal and state government standards require.” Redmond says, “Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield exceeded Federal and State standards by $330-Mil in the amount that it spent on medical benefits on behalf of its members in 2012.”
Under the healthcare overhaul 82% of the money collected by a healthcare provider must go to the services they provide. Excellus BCBS says that it puts will over 90% of every dollar it makes back into the services they provide to their customers.
Across the nation .0256% of people will receive compensation for the lack of services.
