Rochester, NY -- Wegmans is commenting on a published report about helath benefits for its part-time employees.
Employees told The Buffalo News that part-timers working at least 20 hours per week would no longer be offered insurance. Wegmans however says it will continue to offer health care benefits for part-time employees, though eligibility requirements will change.
And the company says the change will not take effect for existing part-time employees until 2015.
Wegmans says it has met one-on-one with each affected employee to reassure them and to let them know it is going to do everything it can to help them through the changes.
