Rochester N.Y.-The Buffalo News today reporting that the Rochester based grocery store chain has decided to no longer offer its health insurance benefits to part time workers.
The company had offered that benefit to part timers who worked more than 20 hours per week or more.
Employees told the publication that the decision was related to changes that will be brought about due to the Affordable Care Act.
Under that plan, part time employees are not elgible for coverage if they can take part in an employer paid plan.
In a statement to the paper, Wegmans says they do not dicuss specifics of the benefits they offer, but did say they will not change thier committment to meeitng the needs of thier employees
