(13WHAM) Rochester, N.Y. - The Rochester Police Officer shot Thursday evening while pursuing a homicide suspect was released from the hospital Sunday, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Sgt. Flamur Zenelovic was released from Rochester General Hospital, where he underwent treatment for multiple injuries to the upper body.
Zenelovic was shot in both arms while exchanging gunfire with Ralph Dion Strong Jr., 31, of Rochester, who is accused of killing two people on June 24 outside of a Central Ave. nightclub.
Strong has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two men from the June 24 double homicide.
Aggravated Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, a Class A Felony, is likely an additional charge Strong could face in that indictment.
Strong was upgraded to satisfactory condition at Strong Memorial Hospital Sunday morning.
Gene McDougal, 47, of Henrietta, was caught in an exchange of gunfire between Strong and police. McDougal is listed in guarded condition.
