Rochester, NY -- There's a homeland security exercise going on today around the Port of Rochester.
Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks says the Northern Border Marine Interdiction Operation Exercise is a full-scale multi-jurisdictional drill that is part of a series of exercises on the border.
Watercraft and aircraft are on Lake Ontario and in the Port area to simulate a search for a possible waterborne threat. A similar drill was held last year.
Brooks says the drills are funded by FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security.
