(13WHAM)Henrietta, N.Y. - The Monroe County bomb squad and hazmat teams were called to an on-campus apartment at the Rochester Institute of Technology Monday evening after a student became ill.
The illness was believed to have been caused by a substance the student brought into a Colony Manor apartment on the east side of campus.
It's not clear what type of substance it was, or the condition of the student, who is being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital.
A spokesperson for RIT says other students in the complex were not evacuated, and that there was no danger to others in the area.
There were not many people left in the apartments because the semester has ended and most students have left campus
