(13WHAM) Rochester, N.Y. - The air we breathe is getting cleaner.
Monroe County's air quality grades from the American Lung Association improved drastically over the last four years.
The report gave the county an "A" for ground level ozone pollution and a "B" for short-term particle pollution.
Just four years ago, the county got an "F" for ozone pollution and a "C" for short-term particle pollution.
Nationally, the American Lung Association says pollution is down, thanks in part to cleaner diesel fuel formulas and more environmentally-friendly cars, like hybrids.
But they say more still needs to be done to better protect the ozone from harmful chemicals and pollution.
