(AP) Buffalo - State police say a van carrying 10 people home from a Florida vacation rear-ended a parked Thruway Authority dump truck south of Buffalo, killing two adults and a 1-month-old boy in the van and injuring the other seven along with a highway worker.
Capt. Douglas Montijo (mon-TEE'-hoh) says the van drifted off the highway and hit the back of the truck around 7:45 a.m. Thursday as it was parked in the median of Interstate 90 in the Erie County town of Brant.
He says a Thruway crew was picking up rubbish along the highway. The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
Montijo says the man driving the van and a woman passenger were killed along with the infant. The seven injured passengers include an adult and six children who are being treated at hospitals.
