(13 WHAM) Victor, N.Y. - A South Carolina man in town for a wedding was arrested after he left a gun in his hotel room.
Ontario County Sheriff's officials arrested and charged Roman Namonyuk, 25, with Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
A housekeeper at the Microtel on County Road 42 in Victor was cleaning Namonyuk's hotel room when she found a semi-automatic handgun under the pillow. Authorities were notified and eventually arrested Namonyuk.
Namonyuk said he brought the gun with him from South Carolina and unintentionally left it in the hotel room when he checked out. The charges stem from the fact that he did not possess a New York State pistol permit.
He was sent to Ontario County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bail.
