The Rochester Arson Task Force has charged a city man in
connection with an explosion and fire that happened last August on Maple Street.
Authorities say that the house at 665 Maple was blown off
its foundation. One woman in the area was treated for injuries from debris and glass.
Officials say the explosion was caused by a large amount of
natural gas inside the vacant building. They believe that was related to theft from the property.
Investigators have charged 25 year old Antony Simmons with
reckless endangerment and burglary. He is also facing robbery, burglary and other charges in connection with a separate investigation.
