The upcoming movie, "The Amazing Spiderman 2" will include some scenes to be shot in Rochester.
That word came Wednesday from Governor Cuomo who said it will be the largest movie production to be filmed in New York and is expected to create a total of 3500 jobs and the casting of 11,000 extras. There are massive sets being constructed at facilities on Long Island and Brooklyn, and this Friday, the production company will be scouting locations in Rochester for scenes, one of which will be a car chase.
Reportedly our town was picked because the traffic laws are not as restrictive as New York City.
The President of Production Administration for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, Gary Martin, said that "from Rochester to Manhattan, this is the first time an entire Spider-Man production will be shot in the Empire State."
