Demolition of the original East Avenue Wegmans will get underway at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9th.
The demolition will begin with removal of one bay of steel, some roofing and the exterior wall that runs parallel to East Avenue.
The entire process is expected to take 2 to 3 hours, barring unexpected delays.
Demolition of the remaining roof and exterior walls will happen in stages between March 11th and March 18th.
The entire 43,000 square foot building will be completely demolished by the end of March to allow for construction of the new parking lot.
The new store is expected to open on May 19th.
