A Monroe County judge has sentenced a Rochester man to 60 years in prison for a home invasion and rape.
35 year old Ronell McFadden was sentenced in connection with an incident in 2006 where a city woman was raped by a man who threatened her and her baby at knifepoint. The D-A’s office says that a mistaken identification led to the arrest of an innocent man. Months later, DNA technology exonerated that man, and gave police a new lead.
Authorities say the cooperation of the victim also helped lead to McFadden being arrested and eventually convicted.
