Officials at Newark Wayne Hospital say that the new emergency department that is opening this spring will bear the name of Dr. Daniel Alexander.

They say that Alexander, who is an orthopaedic sugrgeon, has committed to making the largest gift in the history of the hospital.

The new facility is the centerpiece of a major modernization effort and fundraising campaign at Newark Wayne Hospital.
