There is an effort to raise money for education in the name of a woman who was recently murdered in Rochester.
The literacy fundraiser is in the memory of Edline Chun, the 73 year old woman found shot to death earlier this month in Tryon Park. Police have not yet announced any arrests.
The fundraiser for the RIT professor is being organized with the help of Kim Brumber, she is the CEO of the group Neighbor Works which helps local homeowners.
She knew Chun for a number of years, and says her friend will be sorely missed by many people in this community...
"She was one of the most caring and giving individuals I've ever known. Edlin was a lifelong learner, just gave passionately to the causes and people she cared about."
The fund that has been set up in Chun's name will be used to buy books for the public library. Donations can be sent to neighbor works in Rochester :
